Our Program

Children's Workshop is open from September through May to potty-trained children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 6 years. The morning session is from 8:15 to 11:00 a.m. and our afternoon session is from 12:15 to 3:00 p.m. Children may enroll for 3, 4, or 5 half-day sessions.

Gross motor development is experienced as the children move independently from one area to another and choose from a variety of materials in each area. In following the Montessori Method of teaching and learning, children work alone or in small groups with a teacher to guide and help them when necessary.

A dedication to the creative arts sets Children's Workshop apart from other more traditional Montessori Schools. Our commitment to art, creative movement, music, and creative play is just as strong as our commitment to teaching children via the Montessori method. Children spend their day moving throughout the different parts of our program meeting the needs of the total child.

The total child is given attention at Children's Workshop. Play, music, movement, art, and an appreciation of different cultures are important parts of our program as well as science, geography, math, and language enrichment. We celebrate together, we solve problems together, we help each other, and we come to care about each other.
